Ride to Work

A few days ago, I was heading out the door to go to work when I realized that I haven’t been doing a very good job of documenting my life. I can go outside and take a step in China, free of charge. But that tourist next to me, well the same step cost him a considerable amount more. I should appreciate how lucky I am to be in some strange and interesting land, when others can only dream about being here.

While I’m on the topic, today is a significant day in my life thus far in China. For today I got my working visa! It has been 6 months in the making and cost many a trip to various offices about town but finally it’s in my passport and I’m good until January next year.

Quite amusing given that I have just decided to go back to Korea. I feel like I left my life behind when I left Korea and I’ve been only making do ever since. I need to be back in my second home, with a cold Hite in my hand, knocking down some kimchee. Next month, if all goes to plan, I’ll be doing just that.

Anyway, I was heading out the door, reflecting on how I should document my life, when I decided to grab my camera and film myself riding to work. What better reminder of my life here than to record a trip that I make every day. So I did. I popped it all together, added some music and here it is:
